It’s that time of year---DOOR DAY 2012--May 3rd---a time to celebrate the accomplishments and future plans of our seniors---open to all seniors to celebrate their college choices, military enlistment, or future employment plans.  Seniors---register in guidance to be part of this fun activity.  Underclassmen---this is a great opportunity for college and career awareness to help you with decisions for your future!

This week, Feb. 6-10, is National School Counseling Week.  This celebration is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association to focus public attention on the unique contributions of professional school counselors.  National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact that counselors have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.  Stop by guidance and wish your counselor a good week.

Attention Juniors and Seniors

On Tuesday, February 7th, we will be visiting Springfield Technical Community College for a campus tour.  If you are interested in one of the many great programs offered at this college, come to guidance to register for this trip.  Bus transportation is being provided free of charge by STCC, and will leave from WJSHS at 8:15.  After our tour, seniors applying to STCC will meet with admissions reps with their completed application (fee waived) and transcripts for Instant Accepts.  See Mrs. Robert with any questions.

ATTENTION SENIORS!

Any senior requesting a Counselor Recommendation, Evaluation, or Secondary School Report form, to be completed before the holiday break, must remit all materials to guidance by Wednesday, December 14thRequests received in guidance after the 14th may not be completed until after the holiday break.  Any senior requesting the mailing of an official transcript, must do so by Friday, December 16th.  Requests received after the 16th may not be completed until after the holiday break. Don’t forget to complete and include an application checklist with each submission, and request a copy of your official transcript (the pink form)
