Principal Marlene DiLeo

Dr. DiLeo began her teaching career as a physical education teacher at Worcester Vocational Technical High School. She worked eleven years in the Holyoke Public School system in a number of different capacities that included physical education teacher, Director of Health Education, Vice Principal, and Principal. Dr. DiLeo arrived in Ware in August 2008 to become the principal of Stanley M. Koziol Elementary School and in July 2011 was named the principal of Ware Junior Senior High School.
Dr. DiLeo obtained a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education & Health, a Masters’ Degree in Exercise Science, Certification of Advanced Studies in Educational Administration and a Doctorate of Education in Education Policy and Leadership all from the University of Massachusetts.

A Gardner native, Mr. Elwell began his teaching career at his alma mater, Gardner High School, where he taught English, Astronomy, and Environmental Science. He then served as a Communications Teacher at Mohawk Trail Regional School, teaching Journalism, Public Speaking, and several other electives, including Archaeology. Most recently, Mr. Elwell completed his administrative practicum at Marblehead Community Charter Public School, in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Mr. Elwell has a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Bates College, with a concentration in Archaeology, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New England. Mr. Elwell has participated in several New England Association of School and College accreditation visits and has experience with curriculum development and school publications. He looks forward creating a positive school culture in which teachers can instruct and students can learn.
